artist statement
My life-long love of painting began with watercolor at a very young age. It was during a summer program at the Art Institute of Chicago that I discovered the joy of rendering my subjects in acrylic paint.
Like most fine artists, I wanted to earn a living in a creative field and entered the Interior Design program at the University of Cincinnati. The design skills adapted from this education have been an excellent foundation and have greatly informed my fine art practice.
Today, my process of capturing my subjects on canvas with strokes of oil paint feeds my soul. My subject matter encompasses many genres, while my strong connection to color, texture, and design remains consistent throughout my work. My art celebrates universal experiences and memories and invites you to respond in your own unique way.
